About Derek Streich

Derek Streich is a seasoned healthcare and insurance executive with nearly two decades of experience leading product strategy, business development, and large-scale partnership initiatives. He most recently began a new chapter in his career as the Chief Product Officer at NCD, starting December 1, 2025. In this role, Derek is responsible for driving product vision, leading innovation across NCD's insurance solutions, and strengthening the company's market position through customer-centric product strategy and strategic growth leadership. His focus includes expanding NCD's product suite, optimizing customer experience, and building solutions that meet the evolving needs of consumers and partners across the healthcare ecosystem.

Prior to joining NCD, Derek Streich served as Vice President of Individual Product Development and Strategy at UnitedHealthcare, where he played a pivotal role in expanding the organization's ancillary portfolio to unlock growth in the Senior (Medicare) market. In addition to product strategy, Derek also oversaw the organization's data analytics, reporting, and sales technology functions, ensuring the systems and insights needed to support product performance, sales execution, and long-term strategic planning. His work strengthened UnitedHealthcare's presence in the Medicare supplemental space and aligned product development with regulatory shifts, consumer expectations, and organizational growth objectives.

Before his tenure at UnitedHealthcare, Derek Streich held several leadership roles focused on ancillary insurance product development and distribution. As Director of Business Development at eHealth, Inc., he built non-traditional distribution partnerships across retail pharmacy, provider, and RxTech channels while leading Medicare ancillary product initiatives and managing relationships with nearly 200 carrier partners. Prior to that, Derek served as Director of Business & Product Development at HealthMarkets, Inc., where he oversaw the SureBridge supplemental health portfolio—including Accident, Disability, Critical Illness, Dental, Vision, Life, and Fixed Indemnity products—until the company was acquired by UnitedHealthcare. Earlier roles at Assurity, including Manager of Partnerships and Senior Product Development Analyst, further solidified Derek Streich's deep expertise in designing, developing, and launching ancillary insurance products across multiple markets.

Derek Streich's professional foundation is complemented by deep personal roots in the Midwest. He grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, and attended Mount Michael Benedictine High School, a Catholic college-preparatory boarding school located within a Benedictine monastery. The school's disciplined and community-centered environment played a significant role in shaping Derek's early leadership style and values.

Outside of his professional life, Derek Streich is deeply family-oriented. He is married to Jennifer Streich, a pediatric physician at Cook Children's Hospital, and together they have two daughters, Sloane and Quinn, who provide daily inspiration and perspective. Derek enjoys reading, is an avid tennis player, and has a strong interest in physics and hard science fiction, pursuits that reflect his curiosity, analytical thinking, and lifelong love of learning.
